Numerous awards holder Robert Redford was born in August 18,1936. He started his career in television acting in Alfred Hitchcock Presents and The Twilight Zone. He gained prominence for his leading roles in the romantic comedy "Barefoot in the Park" (1967) and the western "Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid" (1969). Soon he was celebrated as Hollywood's most charming and good looking actor. During 1970s he made a significant shift by stepping from infront of camera to behind camera, becoming a director and producer.

He founded Wildwood Enterprises, a film production company that supports projects that align with his artistic vision, allowing him to develop and finance films that might not fit the normal Hollywood templet. He was co founder of Sundance Institute in 1881 and the purpose of this institue was to support independent filmmakers by providing them a platform that could innovate storytelling. And since then the annual Sundance Film Festival has become one of the World's most prestigious film event which successfully launched careers of uncountable actors and directors.

A family drama "Ordinary People" (1980) was directed by him won four Academy Awards including Best Director and Best Picture. In 2016 the President of the United States gave him the biggest award called the Presidential Medal of Freedom and France gave him in 2019 another special award called the Honorary César to celebrate everything he had done. Time magazine named him as one of the 100 most influential people in the world in 2014.
