The pancreas rarely announces trouble until damage is advanced, but five foods already sitting in most Indian kitchens work quietly against inflammation and digestive stress. Turmeric, amla, methi, ginger, and karela each carry compounds that support pancreatic enzyme function and gut resilience, no supplements, no specialty stores required.
Turmeric
Pair it with black pepper. Piperine in pepper increases curcumin absorption by up to 2,000 percent, according to research published in Planta Medica. Most Indian cooking already combines the two without knowing the mechanism.
Amla
A 2011 study in the Journal of Food Science found that amla extract significantly reduced lipid peroxidation in pancreatic cells under oxidative stress conditions. Eaten raw, as murabba, or in amla juice, the fruit retains most of its potency. Cooking at high heat degrades Vitamin C substantially, so raw or lightly processed forms are preferable when pancreatic support is the goal.
Fenugreek
