Eklingeshwar Temple is located in Moti Dungri area of Jaipur. It is also known as Shankar Garhi Temple. This temple is built on the top of the hill in front of the JDA office. In the lower area of this hill, adjacent to the road, there is a beautiful Birla temple.

Eklingeshwar Mahadev is first worshipped by the royal family of Jaipur on Shivratri. As long as former Rajmata Gayatri Devi was alive, she used to first consecrate the Shivling in this temple and then devotees from Jaipur city as well as from far off places used to worship Lord Shiva.
This temple is still considered to be under the jurisdiction of the royal family and is open to the general public only on Shivratri.

It is said about Eklingeshwar Mahadev Temple that this temple is older than the establishment of Jaipur. When it was constructed in a grand manner, Shiv Parivar was also established in this temple along with Shivling.
But the local people here say that after some time the idols of Shiv Parivar disappeared from here.
After this, the idols of Shiv Parivar were again installed here but the idols disappeared the second time too. After this, due to fear of some mishap, the idols of Shiv Parivar were never installed here again.
