‘Found in Bed With Another Woman’: Palash Muchhal Cheated on Smriti Mandhana, Friend Claims
Shocking allegations have emerged following the cancellation of the wedding between Indian cricketer Smriti Mandhana and musician Palash Muchhal. Actor-producer Vidnyan Mane, who claims to be Mandhana’s childhood friend, has alleged that Muchhal was found in bed with another woman during the wedding festivities in Sangli. He further claimed that the incident led to chaos at the venue and physical confrontation. Muchhal has denied the allegations and termed them baseless, while legal action is reportedly being explored. The claims add a new layer to the controversy surrounding the cancelled wedding.
Fresh allegations have come to light after the cancellation of the much-publicised wedding between musician Palash Muchhal and Indian cricketer Smriti Mandhana.
The claims were made by actor-producer Vidnyan Mane, who has described himself as Mandhana’s childhood friend. He alleged that Muchhal was discovered with another woman during the wedding celebrations.
What Has Been Alleged
Speaking to Hindustan Times, Mane claimed the incident occurred on November 23, 2025, at the wedding venue in Sangli, Maharashtra. According to him, Muchhal was allegedly found in bed with another woman while wedding events were underway.
Mane further alleged that after the incident was discovered, Muchhal was confronted and physically assaulted by members of the Indian women’s cricket team present at the venue.
“I was at the wedding celebrations (November, 23, 2025) when he was caught red-handed with another woman in bed. Bhayanak scene tha, he was beaten up by the Indian female cricketers. The entire family is chindi chor. I thought he’d get married and settle in Sangli, but it has completely backfired on me,” Mane was quoted as saying.
Claims Linked to a Film Project
Along with the personal allegations, Mane also raised accusations related to a financial dispute involving a film project. He claimed that after the wedding was called off, he was blocked by the Muchhal family and alleged that several artistes associated with the film were not paid their dues.
He further stated that when he met Muchhal’s mother, Amita Muchhal, he was told the film’s release budget had increased to ₹1.5 crore. According to Mane, he was asked to invest an additional ₹10 lakh or risk losing his earlier investment, following which he filed a complaint.
“I had heard of directors fleecing producers in the film industry but this is complete theft,” Mane added.
Questions Around Medical Reasons
Mane also suggested that the official explanation for the wedding being cancelled - Smriti Mandhana’s father Shriniwas Mandhana’s health emergency, may have been influenced by the stress surrounding the alleged incident. He further implied that Muchhal’s later hospitalisation could have been linked to injuries from the alleged altercation.
Muchhal Rejects Allegations
Palash Muchhal has denied all accusations made by Mane, including the claims of infidelity and financial misconduct related to an alleged ₹40 lakh investment. In a social media statement, Muchhal described the allegations as false and misleading.
He stated that the claims were made with malicious intent and confirmed that his legal team is examining possible defamation action and other legal remedies.
Context So Far
The wedding, which was scheduled to take place in Sangli, was initially described as postponed after Smriti Mandhana’s father was admitted to hospital with a heart condition. Speculation increased when Mandhana later removed wedding and engagement-related posts from her Instagram account.
While the couple subsequently confirmed their separation, the claims made by a family associate have added further controversy to the events surrounding the cancelled wedding.
