The snake plant is also known as mother-in-law's tongue, has extreme potential to live in low light and has a great capacity for water holding so it doesn't require regular watering. This plant is mildly toxic, so place your toddler and pet away from the plant.

2. ZZ Plant (Zamioculcas zamiifolia)

This plant as well nearly indestructible in low light and can tolerate irregular watering. You can keep them in dark hallways or in bathrooms with some indirect light. Only water the plant when a few cm above the soil are dry. This plant is also poisonous if ingested. So this plant should be placed away from kids and pets.

This plant is listed among plants studied for indoor air quality. It can produce white blooms even if kept in low light. Drooping leaves quickly is another quality of this plant because it is an indicator that the plant needs water. It's also toxic if chewed by humans or pets.

4. Chinese Evergreen (Aglaonema)

This plant is known for its amazing leaf patterns. Can tolerate low light and fluorescent indoor lighting. You can keep this plant in moderate light, keeping the soil slightly moist but not waterlogged.
