It is said that the auspicious rays of the full moon falls on earth during this important festival of Hinduism. Hindu scriptures point out that the Chaitra month is the time period in which the creation of Universe took place. Hence, this day is associated with Lord Brahma as well. This is the reason why religious leaders say that Tap (penance), Jap (chanting), Dan (charity) and virtuous acts carried out during this period yield numerous benefits.

Furthermore, Lord Hanuman is also worshipped in this period as the Lord is believed to have taken birth on 2nd April. Moreover, as a result of offering sincere prayers and rituals on Chaitra Purnima, Bhagwan Satyanarayan’s divine grace will also manifest in our lives in the form of prosperity and happiness.

Devotees should wake up during Brahma Muhurta on this auspicious day and take a holy bath.

Then, we should wear clean clothes and start the day by mediating on Lord Satyanarayan, God Chandra and Bajrangbali.

After cleaning the puja room, place an idol of Bhagwan Satyanarayan and Shree yantra, which is a symbol of Lakshmi Devi, on a wooden plank.

Tulsi leaves should be offered to God Satyanarayan.

Jaggery-Gram or Gur-Chana, vermillion and jasmine oil must be offered to Lord Bajrangbali.

Strong devotees of Lord Hanuman can chant Hanuman Chalisa and read Sundarkand.

It is believed that listening to Satyanarayan Vrat Kadha during this period will purify our hearts from the depth.

The fast should be concluded after providing arghya or water to Chandra Dev.

We have to keep the mind pure during this sacred period. Thus, Sattvic foods must be consumed.
