Ekadashi is considered to be extremely auspicious for worshipping Bhagwan Vishnu as per Hindu tradition. In fact, Lord Vishnu devotees all over the world observe fasts and offer sincere prayers to the Lord on this blessed day. It is believed that Bhagwan’s blessings will manifest in our lives in the form of punya karma and protection from all kinds of negativities and evil. It is said that Varuthini Ekadashi possess deep divine significance among all the twenty four Ekdashi festivals in an year. Varuthini Ekadashi will start at 01:16 AM on 13th April 2026. The concluding time of the festival is 01:08 AM, 14th April 2026.

As we all know, Ekadashi is believed to one of the most sacred festival days in Hinduism. Its supreme importance is clear from the fact that it is dedicated to the all-powerful Bhagwan Vishnu. This year Varuthini Ekadashi or Baruthini Ekadashi will be observed during the Vaishakha month according to Purnimanta calendar.

This is the day in which devotees worship the Vamana Avatar of Lord Vishnu. Sincere devotees who follow all the rituals, fasts and offer prayers rightly will receive liberation from all kinds of sins that they have committed both in this life and the past ones. Religious leaders say that this day is the best opportunity for devotees to attain the blessings of Shri Hari in the form of a place in Lord’s abode after death.

Bhagwan Vishnu devotees wake up during Brahma Muhurat on this auspicious day.

A holy bath is highly recommended first thing in the morning.

Then we should place an idol of the Lord and Lakshmi Devi (in Shri Yantra form) on a wooden plank.

Light a diya using desi ghee. We should light incense sticks as well.

Then, we have to adorn the idol with garland and clothes.

The offerings for the idol include dry fruits, seasonal fruits and bhog Prasad that is made at home.

Devotees should chant mantras dedicated to Lord Vishnu in order to purify their souls. Furthermore, listening Vrat Katha is also very important.
