The Statue of Liberty in southern Brazil on Monday knocked over by a powerful windstorm. Fortunately, no one was hurt as the structure crashed to the ground in the city of Guaiba, near Porto Alegre, in Rio Grande do Sul's metropolitan region.

The height of the Statue was 24 metres which stood in the parking area of a Havan retail store and collapsed. The video circulated on the internet shows the replica slowly leaning under intense wind pressure before ultimately toppling over, even the road was busy and traffic continued to move.

Mix Vale, a local outlet, reported that the structure was owned by the Havan retail chain. As the space was almost empty at the time luckily averted wide dangers. The video shows the upper portion of the statue bending first and then snapping and falling apart. The total height of the Statue was 114 feet and officials stated that only the upper 24 metres were damaged and the concrete pedestal beneath which is about 11 metres still remained intact.

Havan said in an official statement that the statue had been standing on that location since 2020 when the store was opened and it had the required technical certification. Immediately, the area was sealed off after the replica collapsed and specialised crews were brought in to clear the debris within hours.
