Long ago, Govinda claims that he was once contacted for a role in the original Avatar (2009) and that is the concept for the appearance of the AI video. Govinda repeatedly said he turned down the offer after meeting with James Cameron, the director, despite being offered RS 18 crore.

Earlier this year, Govinda said in an interview with Bheeshm International's YouTube channel, “I once met a Sardarji in America and shared a business idea with him that eventually worked. Years later, he introduced me to James Cameron. He suggested that I do a film with James, so I invited them both over for dinner to discuss the project. During the conversation, James told me that the hero in the film was handicapped, and I immediately said I wouldn’t do it. He then offered me ₹18 crore and mentioned that the shoot would last 410 days. I told him the money and duration were fine, but if I had to paint my body, I’d end up in the hospital.”

The actor also claimed that he suggested the film’s title to James Cameron and later admitted regretting his decision to turn it down. Avatar went on to become one of the highest-grossing films of all time, earning $2.92 billion worldwide, while its sequel, The Way of Water, grossed $2.3 billion globally. The latest instalment, Avatar: Fire and Ash, reportedly opened to $347 million worldwide.

Govinda recalled that he once met a Sikh businessman in the US to whom he gave a business idea that proved successful. Years later, the businessman introduced him to James Cameron and suggested they colaclaborate on a film. Govinda invited Cameron for dinner to discuss the project, during which the filmmaker revealed that the hero of the film was physically handicapped.

“I immediately said I wouldn’t do the film,” Govinda said. “James then offered me ₹18 crore and told me I would need to shoot for 410 days. I told him the money and time were fine, but if I had to paint my body, I’d end up in the hospital.”
